Mr. Powers joined Rockwood Group as a Director. He will be involved with Rockwood’s Tax Equity and Commercial Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) products as well as other activities. He has over 30 years experience in the investment banking industry concentrating in mergers and acquisitions, raising debt and equity capital, and structuring securities across a wide variety of industries. Prior that, he was a principal with several boutique investment banks providing the above services to a variety of public and private clients.
Mr. Powers has also been a founder and senior executive with operating businesses. He directed the efforts of a multi-billion dollar corporation’s strategic planning and acquisition functions and was a founder and Chief Financial Officer of a telecommunications company where he coordinated several rounds of private financings and the ultimate acquisition of the company.
Mr. Powers has taught corporate finance and strategy courses at the graduate and undergraduate level and has provided expert testimony services in the area of valuation.
Formal Education and Licenses
Mr. Powers has earned the designation Chartered Financial Analyst. He graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Theory and Business Administration and received his Masters in Business Administration from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles. He holds licenses with the National Association of Securities Dealers including securities principal (Series 24) and sales representative (Series 7).
